InsightGI is a free online resource providing visual infographics to help patients and healthcare providers better understand gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, physiology, tests, and treatments. Our goal is to make complex medical concepts clear, simple, and accessible.
InsightGI was founded by Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty, a gastroenterologist and clinical assistant professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He saw a need for free, high-quality visual resources to explain GI conditions and developed InsightGI using AI-assisted design.
Our infographics are designed using ChatGPT-4o, where AI-generated images are carefully reviewed, refined, and categorized by Dr. Chakraborty to ensure accuracy, clarity, and simplicity.

The DISCERN score is a tool used to evaluate the quality of health information, especially written materials like patient education leaflets or health websites. It helps determine how reliable and trustworthy a source is, based on a set of 16 questions. Each question is scored from 1 (low quality) to 5 (high quality). The overall score ranges from 15 to 75, and higher scores mean the health information is more reliable, well-structured, and based on evidence.
We have evaluated all patient information materials created by applying the DISCERN score. The scores were calculated using ChatGPT.
